Just- Five Minute Friday

Here we are for another Five Minute Friday as I am finally posting on Sunday evening. May you be challenged and encouraged!

Just......

Just a minute

I just saw him

God's ways are just and true

Just the right size

Where is the token in this? How do we see a sign of God's goodness in this?

His ways are precise and exact! It's either right or wrong. There is an absolute standard of morality. It's clear, current, and unchanging. One knows where they stand and where they don't.

We need that! We yearn for security and consistency. The boundaries are firm and in place. They are not always easy, but it is clear!

STOP

"Enter through the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it." (NASB)

Confident-Five Minute Friday

I had one person in mind when I wrote this today. She is one of the most courageous women I know and has such a strong faith. Thank you Chris Cookie as I thank God for the gift of you!

Confident....

Confident He has her back

Confident in the face of challenges

Confident she will overcome

So long cancer, so long life of fear

So long anxiety, hello peace and cheer

So long mud and grime, hello fresh and clean

So long burdens, hello life again

Never down for the whole count

Back up and bouncing

Confident run wild

Will He make us this bold?

Can He strengthen our backs?

Will we persevere through the darkest of nights?

If He can't, we can't, but He can and He does

So we can

STOP

Philippians 1:6" For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." (NASB)

Build-Five Minute Friday

Here I am Sunday evening posting. I had not put much thought into this one, but I hope someone is encouraged and challenged. I keep asking in prayer for God to make creative use out of the towers that have crashed and burned. I have yet to see what this means.

Build.........

They love to build. They can never get enough time in the construction zone. My students think they are playing, yet I know they are learning. Learning what works and what doesn't. Seeing what three dimensional shapes can do and what will remain standing after going oh so high.

We all have our towers we've spent so much time and care creating. We all come to see sooner or later what remains standing. What and how we build is oh, so important. The sky is the limit, BUT where and how will we begin?

Even after our towers may come down crashing and burning, I am told God can and does make creative use out of the remains.

STOP

Psalm 127:1 "Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it.;" (NASB)

Where-Five Minute Friday on Sunday

I let this one marinate for a bit. I hope you are challenged to ask yourself the same questions.

Where........

It's a question I've been asking more and more. Not knowing where and when to move on from the place I am. I'm also asking, "Where did the time go?" These years went a lot faster than I thought they would.

However, more importantly, my heart has been searching for the Lion. The other morning, I awoke from a dream in which I was searching for CS Lewis' Aslan. I was in the Land of Aslan amongst crowds and then found myself traversing across a huge, flat plain covered in snow.

Where is He? I wanted one day with the Lion, face to face. It's times like these I find I need to look and listen carefully.

STOP
