ALIVE! Five Minute Friday on Good Friday

Always

Living and

Increasing His

Venue

Everywhere

"He's ALIVE!

He is risen!

He has won!

Salvation bought for you and me!

He is risen! He is Lord!

He has won!

He's ALIVE forever more."

Lyrics from Carmen's 1985 hit, 'The Champion" play in my mind.

Today is Good Friday, gloomy and rainy as always. I just finished reading Matthew 26. Jesus was alive this day. He was still teaching by example, still praying, and still living.  Those of us who have experienced His kindness, His life and His power continue to celebrate and share. We are His venue and we can go anywhere.

Surprise- Five Minute Friday at 5:30 this morning

I am not an early riser. It just isn't my thing. With the new time change it's been even more difficult for me to drag myself out of bed, but this morning I was surprised by waking up around four something and not being able to go back to sleep. So here I am typing away after spending some time journaling. I set the timer for 5 and here are my surprise thoughts for today.

Tickle my endorphins

Surprise me by love

Swing me around, up in the air

Back down to the ground

Light up my world

Bring beauty from dust

Rose colored glasses and

Pollyanna's perception

Make for sweet, sweet, stuff

Yet mountains surrounding

Dark clouds loom up above

Love can get us through

But sometimes it seems

Just never enough

1 Peter 4:12-13

"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation."

Share- My Five Minute Friday on Saturday

I read the prompt yesterday and wanted time to think on this one. After a day of sharing with family I have settled in with a warm cup of water and ready to post. Here is what I came up with for this week's prompt.

We share smiles

We share moments

We open our hearts

We share good news, bad news

We let skeletons out of the dark

We share stories and lessons,

poetry and more

Every now and then I stop

I think "What do I have now,

that I didn't have before?"

Freely I've been given, so

freely I've received and now

Freely I ask God, "Grant me

vision to see others needs."

News- Five Minute Friday

It can be good or bad
If only hardship we never had
Comfortable we long to be
If life was only so carefree

But every new life
Is not without strife
No struggle means no strength

So when there's no sun
It's certainly not fun
But every new life needs rain

So whether your news is exciting or sad
Remember a lesson is waiting to be had
Great growth never comes without pain

Face your troubles with a grin
Knowing you can still win

News is news, it's just different each day

This past week we celebrated Dr. Seuss Day on Tuesday, March 2nd at school. So, I couldn't help but write a few rhymes. If you haven't picked up a Dr. Seuss book in awhile, try it, you might like it with some green eggs and ham.
