Morning- Five Minute Friday

Birthed in darkness
the sun rises
Exposure to light
awakens activity
Night to others
a gift each day
Never ceasing to come

What will I do with it?
What pops in my head when
light kisses the darkness?
How can we live without it?
What hope would be stolen
if it never, ever came

We need a new start
The power of a new slate
The freedom to create
The quiet and stillness
Until a bird sings
Warmth infuses energy
Spurting forward, morning

Morning, what else can you bring?

A promise of new news

Forget- Five Minute Friday on Sunday morning

It has been a busy weekend so I am just getting to posting this now. No acrostic this week. Instead, a few musings. Hope you are encouraged or challenged in some way. Here it is.

"Fuhgeddaaboudit" was what first came to mind, but then there are the times I need to recite aloud what I need to do so I don't forget. I make mental lists and paper ones, too. All to remind myself of the inconsequential tid-bits needed for this and that.

And do I forget to see the forest through the trees? Is there a bigger picture we sometimes miss out on? Why do I use strategies to remind myself of such minuscule details that will change week to week, but not recite aloud the important facts or truths that are for me today? Hmm.

Somethings we can stand to forget, others we cannot.

Limit- Five Minute Friday

The week went fast and here I am sharing what I was able to come up with in the limited amount of time.

Learn to live and love

May we be

Intentional with the

Time assigned to each of us

We're all given a limited amount of time. As Kenny Chesney sings, "When your hour glass runs out of sand, you can't flip over and start again. Take every breath God gives you for what it's worth."

We all have limits. We reach an end when we will no longer be able to say I'm sorry or I love you.

There's a limit to how many and how long women can bear children, if at all.

The day will come when we may not want to or be able to work or save towards retirement.

Maybe we can only do what we can. but do it. Time is limited.

FOCUS-Five Minute Friday with Kate & Friends

Fill your mind with

One thing and

Concentrate as if time is

Unlimited and

So will be the possibilities

I remember a weekend retreat I attended decades ago. No clocks or watches allowed. Cell phones turned off or handed over. FOCUS was key.

We were encouraged to.

participate, not anticipate.

Live in each moment.

Breathe it in deeply and let it clear out the junk.

Let it change you, give you a fresh perspective,

and just enjoy being.

How we all need to do that!

"The Art of Stillness" as Pico Iyer words it.

Leave our distractions and weights behind.
