Dream- Five Minute Friday

Dream big

Dream little

Dream in black and white

or color

All towards

Meeting your heart's desire

And what if you are still left with a dream?

When does the dream end and reality begin?

When God makes a way

He who opens that door

No man's hand can shut or close

DREAM it and maybe God will make it

And you'll be the one to live it and show

that even your dreams can come true

big or small

deep and wide

Let God Build it

Fear- Five Minute Friday on Sunday

"That's a good thing!" I heard a colleague declare years ago when I relayed to her that a student asked if I was going to tell her, his teacher, about his behavior. Fear of disappointing someone, or fear of getting in trouble, can save a whole lot of people a whole lot of heartache.

We wash our hands before we eat for fear of the germs and getting sick, do we not?

Fear can be a dreadful thing, but it is a good thing when it protects. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." (Proverbs 9:10) Knowing there is a Creator who is loving, but also just, should instill some fear.

That was it in five minutes and I hope it challenges all of us towards a greater understanding and deeper appreciation for life and our Creator. To see what others are thinking, check out

World- FMF reflection

I wasn't sure what would flow this morning and hadn't given it much thought, but lot's of images came to mind. I hope someone can relate. This week's prompt is

Walk in my world
See what's it like
Inhale the aromas of
sweet friendship and love

Walk in my world
feel the rush
the experience of
busy children all day long

Walk in my world
Taste the bitterness of
disappointments and broken dreams
See if you can find the silver lining

Walk in my world
and listen to a Savior calling
Calling forth from the deep
Saying your name
Inviting you onward and upward

Walk in our world
In and around
Day after day
It is meaningless without
purpose, focus, and love

Gift- Five Minute Friday on Friday

So I actually managed to find time and write something on Friday. I so wish I had more than 5 minutes to write for this week's prompt. It stirs so many images and experiences within me. Here are a just a few of them.

"Take it as a gift," my instructor called out to me. Amber was zippy. There was no need for spurs or a crop that night. She trotted along the rail of the arena. Rhythmically, I stayed in sync with her. It was smooth and easy. It was a great ride!

Gifts we are given, we need to receive and do something with. If it sits on a shelf or at a distance, it is of no use. There is no living pleasure then.

My new dad, Guy, was a gift in my life more than 25 years ago. He was strong and he was gentle. I found safety and a man I could trust enough to follow his lead.
